Marlene isn't the real daughter of Barret. She's the daughter of Barret's best friend that died in the game after he fought with Barret. If you play the game you'll know the story behind it all. ^_^

The complete story from the very beginning to the very end.

FFVII Story:
Along time ago there was an interstellar race known as the 'Cetra' Kind hearted and full of knowledge, they were pure magic user. Traveling from one planet to the next in search of the promise land. After a long harsh journey they found a planet with life inhabitants on it. This planet was known as Gaia. In the center of this planet exist a powerful spirit energy, in other word \"Lifestream\" Everything on 'Gaia' has it's own spirit and when that spirit dies it travels into the core of the planet to join the \"Lifestream\" and help heal the planet's wound, after that the spirit energy will re-create itself into a new life. Death give's life, every life that's taken a new life is created, that is the law of this planet. The 'Cetra' realizes this and settle themselves among the other inhabitants here, this was the place they called home, this was their promise land and their long hard journey had finally came to an end.

Several years later...

An alien life form came crashing down onto the planet causing a huge crator. This Alien brought a terrible virus along with it which destroyed many lives in the process. Creating lies, deception and causing most of the Cetra to mutate, turned into a monster and eventually die. This is what the Alien was capable of. It transformed itself into a female body trying to manipulate all the other Cetra. The last few remaining Cetra struggle and fought hard agains't this Alien and finally defeated it, although they won the battle they weren't able to destroy the body thus leaving them to only one option they seal the Alien up in the snowy mountain and let it sleep for eternity. And it remain stuck in that female form.

In the hands of the Cetra exist two powerful item known as 'Materia'. One is the 'Black Materia' which can be use to call forth a giant 'Meteor' while the other one is the 'White Materia' which is use for summoning 'Holy' a ray of light energy that would flow out to stop meteor. The Cetra people feared that the Alien they were fighting might be after this Black Materia, so they hid it away. As for the white meteria, they chose to pass it down from one generation to the next hoping the world will find peace.

They also left a warning behind for future generation about the evil Alien which they refer to as the \"Calamity from the Skies\"

2000 years later...

The planet grew more sophisticated and human species has now ruled the land. Among these humans exist an organization known as the 'Shin-Ra' company, An electrical power supply and weapons manufactory. With the greatest scientific mind on their side and the most advance technology around, the Shin-Ra company became a huge growing organization network and later govern the world itself. They also figured out a way to draw energy from Lifestream and turn it into pure 'Mako' an energy source that can be use to create 'Materia' and with Materia in hand anybody can use magic. Therefore, the Shin-Ra company uses this to their advantage and became rich by selling it Building huge reactor that would suck the life out of the planet. Spreading from one continent to the next, they continue to do this. As they gain profit for themselves, the planet is slowly dying.

No one can stand in their way because they have SOLDIERS working for them. Not just any regular soldiers, these selected few are treated with Mako energy. Among them also exist another group of people with great fighting ability. They are known as the 'Turk' a special shadowy gang of assassins who carries out assassination duty. In charge of all this is the president of Shin-Ra company itself, 'Mr. ShinRa'. Their central headquarter is located in the city of 'Midgar' a rich city where no grass can grow.

A Couple Years Later...

During an excavation in 'Mount Nibel', Professor 'Gast' discover a body frozen in the ice. He dug out the body and takes it over to Nibelheim for examination. Turns out that the body was over 2000 years old. After studying this female body for awhile he concluded that she was one of the Ancient Cetra. And it also seems that she may still be alive. Once this news spread, ShinRa became very interested in professor Gast discovery they offer him money for his work and also gave him assistance to continue on with the research. From here on they named the alien 'Jenova'.

One Year Later...

The Jenova Project began, Professor Gast and a top ShinRa sceintist 'Hojo' worked on this project together.
Their study took place in the basement laboratory of Nibelheim Mansion. Whether or not Gast knew of this, Hojo surely did since he was sent in by the Shin-Ra company. It wasn't just a regular study they were going for, the Shin-Ra main goal was to try and extract power from Jenova's body and injecting it into a human body so that this certain human will carry on the ancient power and thus at the same time creating the ultimate soldier.

A young female scientist by the name 'Lucrecia' and a young Turk member name 'Vincent' was call in to help keep an eye on things. But later they fell in love, and as their time together went on, Vincent came to Lucrecia and gave her a ring,
it was no ordinary ring, it was a proposal. Lucrecia rejected him and ran off crying. Confuse Vincent not understanding what went wrong, he let it all go by. That is until one day when he caught Lucrecia and Hojo kissing each other.
Feeling sad at the scene, Vincent turned his back around and walk the other way realizing that he was wrong all along,
it wasn't him she loved, it was Hojo. Vincent finally understood this and said as long as she's happy then he's happy for her.
Though he didn't get to be with her he did not mind. All that he wish for was her happiness.

Lucrecia later became pregnant, and during that time Hojo experiment keeps failing over and over. Professor Gast left the project after realizing the Shin-Ra plan and what Hojo's been working on. Frustration, confuse and anger, Hojo became a mad scientist. Having no luck with full grown humans and no luck with little childrens, thus leaves to only one conclusion,
try it on a baby that's not been born. Hojo injected Jenova cell inside of Lucrecia, afterwards she gave birth to a child and then became very ill. Vincent found this out and came to stop Hojo, but it was too late, he came just to get shot by Hojo.

Jenova body was then stored up in a pod and hidden away in Nibelheim power plant. Hojo picked up his newborn child and heads off to Shin-Ra headquarters in the city of Midgar. And there his son will be raised, trained and watched as he grows.
The child was named, 'Sephiroth'.

Later Vincent woke up and couldn't remember what happen after he got shot, He looks around for awhile and then realizes that Hojo had done an experiment on him, His left hand was choped off and replace with a metal claw hand. Jenova cell was injected into him and it's already running inside his body. Vincent is now just another Hojo's creation, nothing more but a monster. The only thing he regret most was not able to save Lucrecia. And now she's gone.

Putting the guilt upon himself, Vincent sealed his body up in a coffin and lock himself away from this world forever saying this was his sin. Lucrecia wander down the road alone filled with Jenova cell inside of her she think of herself as a deform creature, losing all hope she went into seclusion in a waterfall cave. Although she dont want to live anymore she have no choice but to live on, this was her sin.

And so the years went by...

Professor Gast traveled the world alone and end up in a place call 'Cosmo Canyon' Here he met 'Bugenhagen' who is the old wiseman of this place, 'Bugenhagen' not only knows a whole history about the ancient Cetra but also obtain their wisdom and knowledge. Professor Gast had decided to stay in 'Cosmo Canyon' for awhile to learn more about the ancient ones.
'Bugenhagen' taught professor Gast all that he needs to know, In return, professor Gast gave his very own technology to Bugenhagen and the people of this village. As a token and as a farewell gift, professor Gast left Cosmo Canyon and on with his journey.

Then at some point along the way Gast met a beautiful girl name 'Ifalna', the last remaining Cetra. After staying with each other for awhile they both fell in love and moved on to Icicle Lodge in the Northern Continent. Living a peaceful life as husband and wife, Gast and Ifalna cherish every moment together. This snowy land was more then just their home, it was their paradise.

Sometime Later...

Ifalna gave birth to a cute baby girl name 'Aerith' But soon after her birth, Hojo came knocking on the door.
Not only he knows that Gast live here but he also knows that a Cetra live here as well. Hojo ask Gast to hand over the Cetra and come back to Shin-Ra with him but Gast decline, therefor he was shot dead. Ifalna takes her daughter Aerith and tried to escape but was captured.

A few years later...

Shinra went to war on a town call 'Wutai' The leader Godo did not want his town to be influence by Shinra corruption
but by going agains't the Shinra, a fierce battle broke out between Shinra soldiers and the Wutai ninja warriors. It was somewhere during this time that Ifalna took Aerith and escape from Shinra Laboratory in Midgar. Getting as far as she could, the wounded Ifalna collapse at the train station in Sector 7. And Here she met a woman name 'Elmyra Gainsborough'
Ifalna senses that Elmyra is a good person and so she handed Aerith over to her before she died. Elmyra kindly takes Aerith to live with her and fulfill Ifalna request, together they lived as mother and daughter in a beautiful house surrounded by flowers.

While during the war 'Sephiroth' has proven that he's no ordinary soldier, and although he's only in his teens his status rank higher among his peers. He fought many great battles and ended many wars saving many lives in the process He made his name and was a hero at the time. The experimental birth baby that Hojo created many years back has now grown up to become a powerful soldier. Who could ever forget the name Sephiroth.

Several years later...

Back in the town of Nibelheim, a young boy name 'Cloud' is seen sitting alone while all the other kids in town have friends.
Because he doesn't talk much he couldn't get any friends and when he sees other kids and their friends playing he feels sad.
Not be able to have friends and not be able to fit in is very hard for the boy.

Cloud has a crush on 'Tifa' who not only live next door to him but she is also the most popular girl in town, everybody know her and she has lots of friends. Poor Cloud wanted to talk to her many time but he just couldn't pulled through,
all he could do was just sit by and watch Tifa and her friends hang out. One day Tifa's mother passed away, she was sad and was all alone in her room crying, she dont want to go outside ever. Cloud went up to her room window and wanted to talk to her and cheer her up a bit, but before he could do anything a bunch of other kids came into Tifa's room and talk to her first. The other kids said that maybe her mother is probably waiting for her up in Mount Nibel, Tifa is then drag along to Mount Nibel by her friends, but to get to the other side they'll have to cross the wavy bridge. No other kids dare to go beside Tifa, she took the lead and walk onto the bridge. Suddenly the bridge began shaking and Tifa was scared and didn't know what to do. Cloud arrive just on time while all her other friends ran off and leaving her behind. \"I'm here to save you\" was the first thing going on in Cloud's mind, without worrying about his own life Cloud went forward and tried to save Tifa but the bridge broke and both of them fell down.

When Tifa's dad arrive he took his daughter back with him and say it was Cloud's fault for bringing Tifa to such a dangerous place. The adults blame him and left him there all alone injured and crawling in the rain, he wanted to save Tifa but couldn't, he failed her.

After Tifa had recover, she and Cloud became a little closer to each other. One night he calls her out for a chat and whether she'll be showing up or not he didn't mind and kept waiting for her. Finally Tifa came, they sat right next to each other under the starry night sky talking for a bit. Cloud then tells her of his plan to join soldiers, he's tired of being a nobody, he's gonna make use of himself and he's gonna prove it to her. he dont wanna be weak anymore, he wants to become strong so that he can save her. he told her that he's gonna make his name one day, he's gonna be just like the great 'Sephiroth'. Tifa then ask him to make a promise, if she's ever in trouble he'll be there to save her and be her hero always. Cloud promises this and then both of them sits and watch the shooting star together.

Couple Years Later...

While stationed in Midgar, a Shinra first class SOLDIER name 'Zack' met a flower selling girl name Aerith. After getting to know her for awhile he kinda like her, and then day by day he kept visiting her and soon after that they dated each other. Zack keeps writing letters to his parents about Aerith, he just can't stop writing about her, he was a soldier in love.

And during this time Cloud leaves Nibelheim to join soldier but again just like everything else, he failed. He sets out to become a high-rank soldier but ended up as a regular soldier. Cloud cut-ties with his mother, Tifa and his whole entire town because he's ashamed of himself. He lose face and doesn't ever want to go back to Nibelheim again.

Two Years Later...

There are reports about monsters attacking and disrupting the workers at Mt. Nibel Mako reactor. Sephiroth, Zack and Cloud was sent in to help out. Entering Nibelheim Cloud keeps his identity a secret since he's in a regular blue soldier uniform and a hat no one will recognize him. The town looks dead when they arrive, but It seems Tifa was waiting for them and after talking for a bit she takes them up to the Mako Reactor. Once they reach there Sephiroth order Cloud and a few other soldier to stay with Tifa outside the reactor while he and Zack go inside to check on things. Cloud didn't dare to look at Tifa, he just stood in the corner with his head down still ashamed of his silly soldier rank. While deep inside the reactor, Sephiroth and Zack discover Jenova's body and all the other mutated failed experiments of Hojo's. Zack almost couldn't believe what he saw until he look closer in the pod and sees the mutated humans. Sephiroth think back and realizes that he could just be an experiment as well seeing how he was born and raise in ShinRa headquarter without even knowing who his mother and father was. Why wasn't he told, Sephiroth became more curious to know his origin.

The group went back to Nibelheim and spend the night at Nibelheim Mansion. In the basement Sephiroth found a bunch of scattered notes about the Jenova Project. Later that night Zack goes to speak with Sephiroth and sees that he's no longer the same person. Sephiroth found professor Gast note about the ancient and relates to himself as one of them.
Realizing this special power he have all along, Sephiroth grew up believing that he was different from everybody else,
but not in this kind of way. He continues to rant and said this planet belongs to the ancient ones and that he must take it back from the humans, the same humans that bring destruction upon his people. Sephiroth became angry without even realizing that it was Jenova who was responsible for the disaster in the past. Having false information Sephiroth believes that Jenova is his mother and he's the descendant of the ancient people.
He left the mansion that night and on his way to free his mother.

Zack also left the mansion that night trying to go after Sephiroth, but once he reach outside the whole entire town was burning up in flame, People laying on the ground either stab or burned to death, soldier Cloud went to help his dying mother but she took her last breath and dies afterward. Sephiroth slaughter everybody while the flames surrounds him,
he then turns to look at Zack, Tifa and Cloud giving them his wicked smile before walking into the flame.

Tifa and Zack chase after him with Cloud following along. Entering the reactor Tifa discover her father body laying on the ground dead with Sephiroth sword on the spot, she burst into tears, full of hate and more anger towards him.
Tifa pick up Sephiroth sword and ran up the stairs trying to stab him but he was quick enough to grab the sword from her hand and cut her with it knocking Tifa down the stairs. Zack came in and ran up the stairs jumping towards Sephiroth trying to attack him but Sephiroth knock Zack away. Cloud then enter the reactor and sees the injured Tifa laying on the ground, he carefully move her body aside and looks up at Sephiroth with anger, but was mad at himself even more for not being there to protect Tifa on time and to save her from the fall. Sephiroth tells Jenova that he's gonna free her and together they will take back the planet. Sephiroth then pulls the armor protection open and rip Jenova's head off. Cloud got up and ran towards him with sword in hand, full of rage he then stab Sephiroth and injured him. Going back down the stairs Cloud went to check up on Tifa's condition, the wounded Sephiroth got up and walk by Cloud taking Jenova's head with him leaving the pod room. Going up the reactor bridge where LifeStream can be seen running down below Sephiroth was injured badly. Cloud follows along and confront Sephiroth on the bridge, he charge in towards Sephiroth at full speed but was stab straight through the chest by Sephiroth. Cloud grabs the end of Sephiroth sword lifting him up to the air and toss him over the bridge. Sephiroth falls down into the LifeStream taking Jenova's head with him.
Injured Cloud went unconscious afterwards.

Tifa's master Zangan arrive in the reactor and sees Tifa laying there on the ground he pick her up and takes her with him. Later Hojo and the ShinRa soldiers arrive to Nibelheim, Hojo order that all survivors be kept for further experiment, this include Zack and Cloud's as well. ShinRa troops put out the flame, re-build the town and fail clone experiment with no memories will be put here. Just let them wander this town without a past, Nibelheim will be the home for false clone and Shinra staff will be working here to watch over them. As for the Mansion it's still being guarded by Shinra soldiers and is use as a mini staff meeting place. The headless Jenova was transfered over to ShinRa lab at their headquarter in Midgar.
The public shall not know of anything and that this town was never burned up to begin with, Written all over the news paper 'Sephiroth' is label as dead, case closed.

Sometime Later...

Zack woke up in a tube, after struggling for a bit he finally manages to break free. Right beside him was Cloud's tube, Zack open the door and Cloud's body tumbles down to the ground shaking. Zack dress him up in First Class ShinRa SOLDIERS uniform and take him out of the lab. Down the road they came across an old man driving a yellow pick-up truck,
Zack ask for help and the old man gave them a ride, Zack hops onto the back of the truck bringing Cloud with him.

On their journey to Midgar at the back of the yellow pick up truck Zack looks up to the clear blue sky and talk to Cloud about his past and what will their next move be. Cloud was not able to respond to Zack due to his sickness, he was still shaking up pretty badly. Zack tells Cloud about his girlfriend in Midgar and how he can crash at her house, before going any further he came to realize that the mother also lives there. Zack laugh and said \"there goes that idea\" Cloud was just sitting there dead silent right beside Zack and still couldn't say anything. Zack tells Cloud that no matter what they do they'll still need money and therefore must get a job. He ask Cloud what kind of business should they start. The old man who's driving tells them that they can do whatever they want in life since they are still young. Zack got an idea from this and tells Cloud they will become a \"Mercenary\" They'll be hired for their strength and they'll make tons of money and be rich in the process, Cloud raises up his hand a bit and open his mouth trying to say something but couldn't. Zack smile and tells Cloud he wont leave him behind, they'll be mercenary together.

Later on Zack drag Cloud down the mountain path and on their way to Midgar.
Zack puts Cloud down on the ground and ask if he was ok, out from behind a bullet was shot straight through Zack. ShinRa soldiers ran up to the injured Zack and shot him many more times killing him off and all Cloud could do was layed there and watch. The Shinra soldier said something about Cloud being a failed experiment and seeing how he lost his memory already he is of no threat to them, they then leave the scene. Zack's body was laying there on the ground dead as rain pours down from above, Cloud slowly crawls over to him. Although Cloud old memory is a bit fuzzy now, he got himself new memory,
Cloud take Zack sword in hand and stood there in the rain watching Midgar from a distance. Being a failure all his life, he will not be a failure anymore, he will go to the city of Midgar and become a mercenary living in Zack's memory.

Ugh I haven't seen the movie yet. We're gonna watch it in anime club though And I might know the answers to some of your questions...

1- No idea abut the disease thingy-majigger
2- Rude probably has tons. In the RP I'm dong with some friends he even has a pair that generates elecricity and shocks anyone that touches them that he doesn't want to touch them (and I can't wait to see him take the glasses off in the movie!!!)
3- Vincent is just awesome like that
4- The huge monster is called Bahamut Sin. No idea about the smaller ones
5- If you remember in the game at the chocobo races, Cloud got a call from Barret. There was also the PHS which I believe acted as a phone. Or maybe they just didn't show the phones in the game.
6- That;s just the way FF is. even in the game itself there was little blood.
7- No idea about Cloud and Tifa's red band. Cid has one too though. Maybe people with Geostigma wear them...?

Also about the characters:
Loz- Seems tough, but a crybaby at heart
Tseng- No clue about the name change
Cid- The ship in the movie is COMPLETELY different from Highwind That's why the name changed.
Cait Sith- No lue about the moogle. Maybe it was too hard to make it realistic enough for the movie...?
Marlene- She's the daughter of Barret's ex-friend Dyne. Barret adopted her. Dyne is the guy you fight in Corel Prison and he jumps off the cliff after Barret fights him.

How do I know all this without seeing the movie? Because I'm just that awesome.

wew, thx for the review xerophia ^^ you've writen all i want to say ^^. emm, can i write my opinion on this game?

1. i don't think tifa got the geostigma, that's mean the red ribbon on her hand doesn't important, maybe that ribbon some of accessories? remember, in the game there was an accessory named ribbon it can prevent any bad status, maybe tifa use that ribbon to prevent geostigma....

2. I wonder how kadaj can summon bahamut, remember the materia that he wear, it's a blue one, not red materia. The blue materia only for support not summon.... (according to the game) but the bahamut is so cool!! >_<

3. about the bloody things in FF7:AC remember when aeris murdered in game? there was no blood in there....

last but not least, i hate square enix!! Why? because aeris doesn't take many part on this movie!!!! DAMN!!!

Special for xerophia: Ga usah pake inggris yah, capek!! Ye...baru sadar kalo rufus tuh ganteng!! aku mah dah sadar dari dulu pas gamenya ^^ cuman pas game dia keliatan judes banget, jadi ga minat (sigh! kenapa orang ganteng selalu jadi penjahat) ternyata di AC dia jadi baik (yay!!) hidup rufus!!
